Review procedure
DOUBLE BLIND REVIEW
Submitted texts are initially evaluated by the editors of the journal. Then we notify the author about the initial acceptance of the text for evaluation and submitting the article for review or about the refusal to accept the text.
In the next step, editors check whether the text contains information that allows the author to be identified during the review process. All information indicating the authorship of the text is removed before the text is submitted for anonymous review.
The editors then select two reviewers to evaluate the text. The reviewers proceed with the evaluation of the article provided that there is no conflict of interest in relation to the research topic considered in the given article or in relation to the author/authors. "Edukacja Etyczna" does not provide texts for review to persons who are in a family or professional relationship with the author/authors of the evaluated text. The editors of "Edukacja Etyczna" make every effort to avoid selecting reviewers with an obvious potential conflict of interest (for example, those who work in the same institution as the authors).
We also encourage authors of submitted papers to provide with the manuscript a list of names of persons who, in their opinion, should not be asked to review the text due to a potential conflict of interest. Where possible, authors should justify or explain the nature of the reported conflict of interest.
Reviewers of Ethical Education, to whom we send texts, are asked to disclose to the editors any conflicts of interest that could affect their opinion about the work. We also inform reviewers that it is forbidden to use knowledge about the evaluated work before its publication.
The reviewers of "Edukacja Etyczna" use a standard review form in which they indicate, along with the justification, their decision to publish the text. The reviewer can indicate the following options:
1. Adoption of the text without changes
2. Adoption of the text with minor changes
3. Adoption of the text with major changes
4. The article does not meet the requirements of a scientific article and should be rejected.
Based on the opinions provided by the reviewers, the editors of the journal "Edukacja Etyczna" decide on the further fate of the article. Based on the opinions issued, the article may be submitted for further editorial work and publication, sent back for thorough correction in accordance with the reviewers' comments, or rejected. In the case of divergent opinions contained in the submitted reviews, the editors of the journal may decide to appoint a third reviewer.
The authors of the reviewed texts receive the content of the review and the reviewer's suggestions for corrections, if any. At the request of the author of the text, it is possible to provide comments/opinions/comments/questions to the reviewer of the article through the editorial office of "Edukacja Etyczna", while maintaining the anonymity of the parties.
