“Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Linguistica” is a scientific journal, whose main goal is to disseminate the results of linguistic research, covering the various phenomena and problems of old and modern Polish. The spreads of our annals remain also open to contextual and comparative studies. We are the spiritual heirs and continuators of the linguistic thought of eminent Polish linguists: professors Tadeusz Milewski and Stanisław Jodłowski.

For over forty years, we have been trying to disseminate the results of our research in the form of recurring publications, inviting linguists from other academic centers to cooperate in this field. “Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Linguistica” continues the publishing cycle initiated in 1970 at the Institute of Polish Philology at Higher Pedagogical School (the former name of the Pedagogical University of Krakow). In the years 1970-1997 a total of 9 volumes were published, under the title “Scientific and Educational Yearbook. Linguistic Studies” (vol. I-IX). Due to some changes in the official name of the University, the journal in the years 2002–2008 was published under the title “Annales Academiae Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Lingusitica”. In total, four volumes were published during this period (vol. I-IV). The last change of the university's name to Pedagogical University of Krakow, in 2008, resulted in another modification of the title of the publishing series, which from now on has been called “Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis. Studia Linguistica”.

Beginning in 2010, “Annales...” appears regularly as a yearbook. The journal promotes the work of authors from the community of scholars predominantly based in Krakow. In the last decade, doctoral students have also published their debut texts. Among the authors of the latest volumes there are also representatives of regional and international linguistics. The journal is therefore open to a wide variety of perspectives, which is evidenced both by the authors' generational affiliations, by the multitude of scientific centers or schools they represent, and also by the multitude of issues addressed as well as research methodologies used.

In 2013, our yearbook ISSN 2083-1765 was included in the ministerial list of scientific journals (part B), currently scoring 70 points, according to the current system of criteria and evaluation rules for scientific journals prepared by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. We invite everyone who would like to share their research results in our yearbook.
