Semantic prosody of verbs in Polish and Slovak

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to indicate the existence of the phenomenon of semantic prosody in Polish and Slovak political discourse. The analysis showed that semantic prosody is present in the compared languages in verbs, and their meaning in political texts frequently, but not always coincide with the dictionary meaning. The material corpus of the study was the texts of political party programs in Poland and Slovakia. There, the connectivity of verbs in context was examined. The increased interest in the problems of political linguistics research in both countries dictated the choice of the corpus.
