Non‑verbal communication based on data from the Conceptual Dictionary of Old Polish

Abstract
The subject of the research was the semantics of medieval auto-semantic lexical units representing the concept of NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION. The aim of the analyses was to better understand the language by detecting relationships within lexical groups linked by a common meaning. The article discusses selected lexical representations of the concept of NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION collected in the Conceptual Dictionary of Old Polish. Onomasiological methodology was used during the research. A broad understanding of non-verbal communication has been adopted, referring to all ways of transmitting information without using words in speech or writing.
